Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme provided by the Hungarian Government

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 for foreign students after the announcement of the policy of "Global Opening" by the Hungarian Government. The aim of the programme is to promote cultural understanding, economic and political relations between Hungary and other countries. The scholarships entitles students for full time studies in Hungarian higher education institutions that are part of the programme.
The programme enables students to conduct full time studies as follows:
- BA/BSc (undergraduate – 3 years)
- MA/MSc (graduate – 2 years)
- PhD studies (doctoral – 3 years)

Scholarship holders are provided the following allowances:

- no tuition fees
- monthly stipend: BA/BSc, MA/MSc students receive HUF 40 460 per month
- dormitory place or a contribution of 40 000 HUF to accomodation costs for the whole duration of the scholarship period
- medical insurance
- use of the services of the library free of charge

STUDY IN HUNGARY - Interviews with International Students 

The national coordinator of the programme is Tempus Public Foundation.Those interested in the scholarship programme can submit their grant proposals to Tempus Public Foundation and the relevant educational unit of their home countries (authorities in the partner countries). Applications shall not be submitted to higher educational institution directly.
